How to use the Conception Calendar

Menstrual cycles vary from one woman to another. Many women have shorter or longer cycles. An average cycle takes 28 to 32 days. Since these cycles vary, some women may have miscalculated their cycle.

Ovulation tracking is an efficient method of determining whether you are pregnant. Giving birth is an influential event to every human being. Evolution of technology has made this event important by analyzing menstrual cycles of women. Those with shorter cycles of 28 days can calculate their fertility by adding 14 days to the initial period of menstruation. A point to note is that those with irregular periods may find it difficult to determine ovulation times.

Advanced Women's Calendar is a conception calculator that estimate a conception date and due dates for the baby.

The calendar gives guidance on:

Birth Control

Calculating a woman's safe days can be easy when you are not on the pill. This program calculates these days by analyzing your periods. This software calculates your safe days by displaying them using a color coded grid. Your unsafe days will take a different color coding.

Conception

Chances of conception are high when you are ovulating. Remember that this software is supposed to calculate the likelihood of getting pregnant. You only need to enter the relevant information, and it will calculate the fertile period and any information about your menstrual cycle. After the calculation, this calendar will display the results through a color coded calendar. The sex of the baby can also be predetermined using this software.

The Real Cause of Infertility

Infertility can be defined in two ways: as inability to conceive after a year of regular sexual intercourse without contraception, or as repeated ectopic pregnancies, miscarriages or perinatal loss. Male and female specific factors account for about 30% of the infertility causes (individually);the combination of male and female causation leads to an additional 20% and the remaining 20% are caused by uncertain origins.

When one is dealing with infertility, as much as it is important to strictly follow the rules of the treatment, it is equally important to make sure that you have the correct diagnosis of the root cause of your condition. In this article you will find a broad outline, enumerating the various probable causes of infertility.

Why it is important to determine the causes.

Infertility may be caused due to a multitude of factors at a time, or it may be the result of perhaps the deviation of a certain single factor from its premeditated path. Since misdiagnosis can often lead to further fertility complications, the very first step of treating and curing infertility depends largely on indentifying the root cause right in the beginning of treatment.

The broad causes of infertility in females may be listed as follows:

Anovulation:
In females, ovulatory problems are the most common causes of infertility. The failure to ovulate may be due to a number of factors:
  • Hormonal imbalance is the most frequent cause of anovulation; when the ovaries produce immature eggs, pregnancy becomes impossible.

  • Women with polycystic ovaries suffer from a decreased secretion of FSH and increased secretion of LH and testosterone; therefore polycystic ovarian syndrome may lead to anovulation in women.

  • Approximately 20% of the cases of infertility occur due to the malfunctioning of the hypothalamus, the gland which controls hormonal stimuli, resulting in immature eggs. The pituitary gland is responsible for the regulation of LH and FSH, and its malfunctioning produces immature eggs.

  • Damage to the ovaries caused by previous surgeries, ovarian cysts, tumors and infections may lead to production of immature eggs as well.

  • Premature menopause and follicular problems are also responsible for anovulation.
Improper functioning of fallopian tubes:
Viral and bacterial infections of the fallopian tubes are the primary cause of their malfunction.

Appendicitis and colitis are abdominal problems which lead to blockage of the fallopian tubes. Tubal damages may also be caused by previous surgeries, which render the tubes incapable of passing eggs. Ectopic pregnancy, which occurs within the tube, is a potential threat to life that also causes tubal damage. Congenital tubal defects are rare, but not impossible to come across as causes of infertility.
  • Use of drugs:
Smoking, drinking and using other drugs have been known to decrease the chances of getting pregnant.

  • Problems in the Immune system:
This problem includes autoimmune reactions in the body and the creation of antisperm antibodies which exterminate sperms. Natural killer cells, which when present in excess, can damage the embryo in the uterus. The antinuclear antibodies cause inflammation of the uterus when present in excess. The presence of antisperm antibodies in the female's body kills off the sperms before they can fertilize the egg.
Although the causes of infertility are many, they are fairly easy to overcome, especially when diagnosed in the early stages. Using a holistic approach, comprising of the prescribed medicines, following a healthy diet, regular exercise, abstinence from alcohol, nicotine and other drugs, stress management, acupuncture etc. guarantees positive results. Due to the complex and multifactoral nature of infertility, the problem can be solved permanently only by dealing with it in the holistic way, which tackles all the root causes of this condition rather than focusing on specific triggering elements.

This article is based on the book, "Pregnancy Miracle" by Lisa Olson. Lisa is an author, researcher, nutritionist and health consultant who dedicated her life to creating the ultimate pregnancy solution guaranteed to permanently reverse the root of infertility, help you get pregnant quickly and naturally and dramatically improve the overall quality of your life, without the use prescription medication and without any surgical procedures. Ovulation Cycle

Knowing the science behind your cycle of ovulation may help to understand better when you can be more fertile and have the best chance of conceiving. Although it happens every month, the ovulation cycle is unique, customized for your body and influenced by what is happening in your daily life. Things like stress and big changes in your normal routine can lead to a significant change in the ovulation cycle, which can be painful when you are trying to conceive.

The first part of the cycle of ovulation is the follicular phase. From the first day of the menstrual period, this phase continues until ovulation occurs. This part of the cycle may last 7-40 days, and may vary due to many factors such as age, stress, illness, travel, etc.

The second part of the cycle is called the luteal phase and begins the day of ovulation until the first day of your period. This is a more precise chronology and usually lasts between 12 to 16 days after the day of ovulation. With this in mind, you can try to reduce the amount of stress and changes in your routines only during the ovulation phase, because ovulation is highly influenced by these factors.

How do you know when you ovulating? One way to keep track is through the study and monitoring of cervical mucus and/or basal body temperature to determine when ovulation occurs. Once you know your particular pattern, you can monitor every month to track your times of fertility. With this knowledge, you can time your “baby-making” sessions and then look for any early symptoms of pregnancy two weeks later. Of course, how often and when will be the best time to get pregnant may be different for different people depending on their unique personal circumstances.

If the egg is not fertilized during the ovulation cycle, you will see the hormone levels drop significantly and the uterine lining begins to shed. This will be about 12 to 16 days after ovulation and is cycle day one of your period. Once this happens, a whole new ovulation cycle begins. Although this seems confusing and complicated at first, understanding your ovulation cycle will enable you to have the best chance of conceiving fast.

Boost Your Fertility by Combating Estrogen Excess the Bane of All Infertility

Estrogen (estradiol) is the hormone that is responsible for majority of the cases of infertility in both male and female. Estrogen dominance relative to progesterone and or testosterone is the major hormonal imbalance in infertility treatment. Every other symptoms or manifestation of infertility stems from hormonal imbalance. This is exactly what most fertility doctors and reproductive endocrinologists ignore to master. You must realign these hormones in proper balance to boost fertility. For infertile women, estrogen must be balanced with progesterone while infertile men must balance estrogen with testesterone.

Both men and women consume environmental toxins in their food and drink which are loaded with estrogens. In addition, women make a lot of endogenous estrogens while men above 40 aromatize testosterone back to estrogen and dehydro-testesterone. Estrogen excess causes several known female infertility issues like fibroid tumors, uterine polyps, endometriosis, adenomyosis, endometrial hyperplasia, anovulation, primary ovarian failure, ovarian cysts (polycystic ovary disease), luteal phase defect, and tubal blockage. On the other hand, the male infertility factors like poor sperm profile is caused by lack of testesterone (stimulate sperm production) relative to dorminant estrogen (from aromatization of testosterone) which suppress male potency.

Unlike testesterone, estrogen is a group of three hormones: estriol (good estrogen), estrone (bad estrogen), and estradiol (the real bad and ugly estrogen). By the way hormones are chemical messengers that power cellular function. They are produced by endocrine or ductless glands that secret these chemicals directly into the blood stream. Hormones like estrogen and progesterone are secreted by some glands but exert their effect in other organs that has surface proteins called receptors. The receptors are like lock while the hormones behave like keys. Therefore, estrogen has its receptors in reproductive organs like ovary, uterus, birth canal, breast, and falopian tubes. Other estrogen receptors include the fat cells, liver, brain, and thyroid gland.

Estrogen can come from diet or is made from within the body (endogenous estrogens). Exogenous estrogens come from food sources like soy which has isoflavons and genistein which are forms of plant estrogen called phytoestrogen. Flax, carrot, red rasberry, black cohosh, and squash are all forms of estrogens. Other sources of estrogen are meat and dairy loaded with bovine growth hormones. Zenoestrogens are names given to estrogens from petroleum products (organophosphates), pesticides, dioxins, insecticides, herbicides, and synthetic fertilizers (especially by eating genetically modified foods).

Another source of estrogen is myco-estrogens which comes from the colon through the activity of candida. Yeast come from bread, nuts, seeds and packaged foods. Yeast crave sugars and multiply in seconds to produce estrogens called mycoestrogens. And because yeast is saprophytes, they coexist with bad bacteria (anaerobes) in the colon. The bad bacteria include bacteriodes, clostridium and E.coli. These bad bacteria produce an enzyme called glucuronidase which makes it hard to eliminate used estrogen from the liver. Therefore, they raise estrogen level indirectly.

Having related all these, to boost fertility and combat infertility, estrogen dominance must be controlled for the infertility to turn to conception. Estrogen elimination must take a multi-pronged approach at five cardinal places:

Liver Detoxification:
Aggressive cleansing detoxification of sluggish liver is necessary. The Chinese believe that it is the liver that controls ovulation. Yes, if you don't make the eggs, you are not going to make the babies. You detoxify the liver with liver friendly fruits and vegetables. The chief of which is green leafy vegetables and bitters. The list include watercress, dandelion greens, cucumbers, lemon juice, lecithin, B-complex vitamins, milk thistle, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and NAC (N-acetyl cysteine).

Colon Cleansing:
Do a special type of colon cleanse with saline laxative like Epsom salt, olive oil and lemon juice. Added to that are anti-yeast herbs like caprylic acid, oil of oregano, and pau d'arco. More vital is to eliminate beta glucuronidase enzymes that prevents phase II liver detoxification and elimination of estrogen with calcium d-glucarate. D-glucarate breaks down glucuronidase produced by the bad bacteria in the colon. They preserve glucuronic acid which is necessary for conjugation and elimination of spent estrogen in the liver. Otherwise estrogen is reabsorbed into the circulation where it goes back and causes further harm.

Aromatization Blocker (Aromatase Inhibitors):
Aromatization is a process of turning one hormone into another. Testesterone is responsible for both male and female libido. It is also necessary to stimulate sperm production in males. Therefore, aromatase inhibitor will prevent testesterone from turning into harmful estrogen. An aromatase inhibitor is also necessary in blocking testesterone from turning into dehydrotestesterone which is the hormone responsible for hair loss in both male and females. Dehydrotestesterone (and estrogen) are also responsible for prostate cancer in males. By the way, prostate is the male equivalent to the uterus. MYOMIN is the ultimate aromatase inhibitor. Myomin is a blend of four Chinese herbs developed by Dr. Chi who was a researcher with the Park Davis Drug Company. Myomin is also anti-inflammatory and can stimulate interleukin 6 (IL6) and tumor necrosis factor that can shrink fibroids and ovarian cysts. Combating inflammation is central to any disease management. Myomin can also blocks estrogen receptors.

Estrogen Receptor Blockers:
You must block estrogen at the receptor sites. Without receptors, estrogens will no have any effect at the target organs. Receptors are surface proteins that modulate the internal activities of estrogens to minimize their damaging effects. Myomin is a non-selective estrogen receptor blocker. It is better than tamoxifen which is a selective estrogen receptor blocker and only works in the breast and not the reproductive organs and fat cells. By the way fat cells manufacture estrogens themselves and myomin can block this process also.

Dissolve the Tumor or Fibrosis:
This is necessary because the causes of infertility is due to women fibrosis diseases which hamper chances of fertility. Tumors or cyst anywhere in the body is unacceptable. Excess estrogen is free radical generating, inflammatory, fibrosis-forming and carcinogenic. Myomin is also great here because it can balance hormones especially with DIIM (diindolemethane). However, the infertile surfferer need a blend fibrinolytic enzymes. Fribrin is a type of protein that cause problem and mount immune response that cause most infertility problems.

These include uterine fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, polyps and cancers. Vitalzym is the enzyme of choice. It contains a blend of proteolytic or protein eating enzymes that dissolve all these tumors regards of where they are in the body. These enzymes also clean the blood, modulate the hormones, clean out bacteria and viruses and regulate the blood PH. Myomin and DIIM can stop series of miscarriages which is a form of inflammatory response and fetus rejection. Obstetricians in Europe use myomin to stop miscarriages (regarded as a type of infertility if it occurs three or more times).

In a nutshell, to combat infertility and boost fertility due to estrogen excess, you must clean the liver and colon by aggressive detoxification, add calcium d-glucarate to the mix. You must further block estrogen at the receptor sites, use aromatase inhibitors like MYOMIN and DIIM. To cap it up, use a systemic proteolytic enzyme blend like Vitalzym to eat up any tumor or growth that is already generated by excess estrogens. Yes, hormonal balance is necessary for the man to remain potent and for the woman to conceive a baby. These five outlined mechanisms enhance the harmonious dance of steroids (sex hormones) that sets the stage for fertility and potency. Any treatment that can boost fertility can cure infertility.

Reasons for Pregnancy Failures

It is the dream of every woman to become the mother. Motherhood is the immortal part of the woman’s life. Woman once get married, want to start the family. It is like a dream come true for a woman when she becomes pregnant.

Pregnancy is a fulfilling experience for every woman.

Every woman wants to enjoy the experience the pregnancy and wants to be the mother. Instead of emphasizing the stresses and strains of motherhood and divisions among mothers, the findings reveal that--regardless of background or life circumstances--mothers across the globe have a great deal in common and derive deep satisfaction from motherhood.

But according to the latest survey, around 2 million of the women are childless due to the problems in the pregnancy.

Here, I am mentioning you the reasons for pregnancy failures along with there solutions. I feel every woman should read it and should enjoy the experience of motherhood. I feel that if I am able to solve even the problem of one woman then I will be the happiest person in this world.

1. Infertility in Women
Infertility in the women is found to be the main cause in getting the women pregnant. In spite of the successful intercourse and the transfer of the sperm to the women ovule and even the ovulation takes place but the chromosomes from the women are not indulged in the ovule and as a result the egg fails to develop in the embryo and the pregnancy is found to be failed in such women. Sometimes infertility in the women is found from the birth. But, very rare cases of infertility from the birth were noted.

Pelvic inflammatory disease is found to be one of the major causes of the infertility in women. Pelvic inflammatory disease comprises a variety of infections caused by different bacteria that affect the reproductive organs, appendix, and parts of the intestine that lie in the pelvic area. About 25% of the women who develop pelvic inflammatory disease are found to suffer from the infertility. Pelvic inflammatory disease significantly increases the risk of ectopic pregnancy (fertilization in the fallopian tubes). This infection particularly damages the fallopian tubes and leads to the infertility in the women.

Endometriosis is found to be another cause of infertility in women. Endometriosis is the condition in which the tissue that normally lines the uterus (endometrium) grows on other areas of the body causing pain and irregular bleeding. This damages the egg’s passage. Thus, the transfer of the egg to the fallopian tube is prevented and the pregnancy doesn’t occur.

2. Ovulation Problems
Ovulation problem is found to be the major and most prominent problem in getting pregnant. About 41% of the women face the problem of ovulation in their life span either temporarily or permanently. Ovulation problem is explained as—the ovaries don’t release an egg each month. Ovulation problems result when one part of the system that controls reproductive function malfunctions. This system includes the hypothalamus (an area of the brain), pituitary gland, adrenal glands, thyroid gland, and genital organs. Ovulation is often the problem in women who have irregular periods or no periods.

In the ovulation the sperm is transferred from the man to the woman but the fertilization of the egg fails. Polycystic ovarian syndrome is a common cause of anovulation and infertility in women. There are several possible ways to attempt ovulation induction in women with polycystic ovaries. Clomid tablets are found to be the best and easiest method to treat the ovulation problems in the women. Clomid is used by women want to become pregnant or having problem in becoming pregnant. Clomid works by causing ovulation to occur.

3. Hormone Imbalance
Hormonal imbalance causes the pregnancy problems in about 8% women around the globe. Progesterone is the main hormone that is responsible making the problems in the women pregnancy. Progesterone is necessary for the formation of the egg in the female ovum. If the less amount of the progesterone is present in the women body then the formation of the egg fails and as a result women are not able to become pregnant. Progesterone is the female hormone that causes the lining of the uterus to thicken in preparation for a potential fetus. Ovulation may not occur because the hypothalamus does not secrete gonadotropin-releasing hormone, which stimulates the pituitary gland to produce the hormones that trigger ovulation. Thus, you need to consult your doctor to check the progesterone levels in your body, and if are found lower than the standard levels. Then, please ask doctor to prescribe some medicines that will increase the levels of progesterone and help you in becoming pregnant.

4. Poor Nutrition
Poor nutrition is the cause of many diseases and thus is also related to the pregnancy failures in the women. Proper nutrition is very essential for the women to get pregnant. Lack of nutrition disturbs the formation of egg and thus failure in the pregnancy in noted among the women who are having poor nutrition. Hence to avoid the pregnancy problems, women should take the balanced diet. Women can even contact the dietician for the proper diet to remain fit and fine to get pregnant.

5. Physical Problems
Painful intercourse in one of the physical problem that leads to the failure in the pregnancy, perhaps due to something physically wrong. It can also be that she is afraid and unable to relax. Thus, these women avoid the intercourse and don’t get pregnant. Physical damages like accidents, sports like weight lifting, cycling may damage the fallopian tube. As a result these women fail in getting pregnant. Sexually transmitted diseases also damage the ovulation by the infection as a result these women fail to carry a child.

6. Sexual Dysfunction
Sexual dysfunction in the women is the problem that arises due to the loss of sensitivity of the female reproductive organ. It is due to the sexual dysfunction that women feels disinterested in the sex. This makes its difficult for the pregnancy to occur. It is necessary for the couple to have sex at least twice in a week to bore a child. But due to the women’s disinterest, couples don’t have sex for months. This results in pregnancy failures.

Remember that all the above mentioned conditions are 100% curable and there also some techniques like sperm transplantations that can also be used to make you pregnant. Thus, don’t get yourself stuck-up with these problems in pregnancy and don’t keep yourself abide from the wonderful experience of motherhood.

Infertility Frustrations?

While some women are able to get pregnant rather easily, many others have great difficulty. Infertility is not uncommon; fortunately, there are some things women can do to increase their chances of boosting their fertility.

According to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, 6% of married women aged 15 to 44 are infertile, and 7.4 million of all women in that age bracket have used infertility services.

If you are a woman who is trying to conceive and who meets any of the conditions listed below, you should consider making an appointment with a fertility specialist to discuss your options. A fertility expert can also help women who have had unprompted miscarriages.

Infertility Conditions & Causes

Each of the following circumstances officially defines infertility:
  • Inability to become pregnant after one year of trying
  • Irregular menstrual cycles (no cycle, no egg)
  • Women who are 35 or older and have not conceived after 6 months of trying.
There are myriad causes of infertility, but the most common in women include:
  • Early menopause
  • Ovulation maladies
  • Endometriosis
  • Damage or blockage of the fallopian tube
  • Increased level of prolactin
  • Fibroids
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome
  • Thyroid problems
  • Pelvic adhesions
  • STDs
Things that Increase Your Infertility

Lifestyle certainly plays a role in infertility. The older a woman gets, the more difficult it is to conceive. With the increasing number of American women (20%) who wait until they are 30-something to think about parenthood, the cases of infertility in women will surly increase as well.

The CDC reports approximately one-third of women over 35 who are trying to conceive experience infertility. Age seems to be the leader factor why a woman is unable to get pregnant.

With age, the likelihood of miscarriage and genetic problems also increases. In some cases when pregnancy does occur, women can have difficulty bringing the child to full term.

While women seeking to conceive can't do much about the age of their ovaries and eggs, they should avoid the following:
  • Smoking
  • Excessive use of alcohol
  • Excessive weight gain or loss
  • Excessive stress either physical or emotional (which can result in absent periods).
It is also advisable to avoid, or at least reduce, caffeine intake. Studies have also shown that ovulation problems are associated with individuals exercising for more than 7 hours per week.

Increasing Your Fertility

Just as there are conditions that increase infertility, there are also actions you can take to increase your ability to get pregnant. It is natural for women to want to do everything possible to increase chances of pregnancy before seeking a fertility specialist.

Eat Healthy Foods

Eating a healthy diet is important for ovulation. Women trying to conceive should be mindful of the following:
  • Eat less trans fats and more monounsaturated fats (like olive oil).
  • Eat less red meat animal protein and more vegetable protein (like soy).
  • Eat less refined sugars and carbohydrates and more high fiber, low-glycemic foods such as whole grains, vegetables, and some fruits.
  • Eat moderate amounts of high-fat dairy products such as ice cream, whole milk, and cheese.
Control your Weight

Maintaining a healthy weight is helpful in making sure your cycles are regular as well as contributing to the overall health of your ovaries. The more irregular the body mass index (BMI), both higher and lower, the more a woman's ability to conceive is directly affected.

Reduce Stress

While highly debated, many physicians believe reducing stress positively enhances a woman's chances of pregnancy.

Ovulation

Tracking your ovulation cycle is very helpful in making sure you don't miss that prime-time window of opportunity. This method is especially helpful because sperm lives much longer than eggs. There are even OTC kits that assist you in determining when you are ovulating.

Conception Kits and Other Tests

Until recently, ovulation kits couldn't actually help you get pregnant. A kit is now available that not only helps you predict ovulation, it includes a small latex-free cervical cap to ejaculate in and is then inserted into the woman's cervix directly.

Think of it as a way to perform an at-home mini-insemination. Essentially, the procedure places the sperm where it needs to be without having to swim their way there.

If you are having difficulty getting pregnant, make an appointment with your gynecologist or fertility specialist for more information about your options. Long strides have been made in the fertility field, helping many people become parents.

Whether you're trying to get pregnant or are currently pregnant, it 's very important to consult with a board-certified obstetrician. Florida pregnancy care specialists at All About Women offer not only the highest quality, but the most compassionate care for this special time in your life.

Women Want Men With A Vasectomy

Having a vasectomy has been the wise choice of over five hundred thousand American men each year. This is because raising children has become less important to both men and women. There are many reasons for this change in values and the main one is economics--- it is too expensive to raise a child. It is estimated the cost of raising a child from birth until the age of eighteen runs over one hundred and fifty thousand dollars. This does not include the loss of income.

There are women that demand a potential lover get a vasectomy before they would be willing to have an affair with him. One attractive woman claims that she had seventeen lovers who had the operation done in order to get the chance to make love to her. She even paid the two hundred dollar cost of each operation out of her own pocket. The operations were done at the office of her private physician while she watched the hour long procedure. The doctor himself was one of her devotees who also had a vasectomy to get a chance to be her lover.

Men who are either unemployed or are on the low income scale are not recognized as husband material by most women. They would never consider raising a family with that type of individual. But he might be an attractive guy who she would like to have an affair with. There is now no reason for a woman to avoid a guy that is broke. She could ask him to get a vasectomy before he could become her lover. That is a sure way to prevent her from ever becoming a welfare mother.

Most health plans cover the costs of a vasectomy. Without health insurance doctors would do it for two hundred dollars. It is a wise choice for a guy that is having a hard time earning money. But remember to get a statement from the doctor. It will help your love life with a woman that has a fear of getting pregnant with a guy that is broke.

There are couples that have already had a few children and don’t want to have another one. The vasectomy would be the perfect solution. It is becoming the best way of keeping the family size contained to affordable levels.

Today’s women have a power never before dreamed of. They can control who the father of their child will be. A woman no longer has to take the chance of becoming pregnant with a guy that is sure to wind up as a dead beat dad--- a guy that can’t support his children and disappears. For two hundred bucks she can take him to her doctor and get him a vasectomy. If she decides her potential lover will make a good father than let it happen.

How to Practice Home Massage Techniques When Pregnant

More and more women are turning to alternative treatments for the aches and pains associated with pregnancy. This is largely thanks to a growing knowledge base, which tells us that alternative treatments are safer, for you and your baby.

Home massage is one of those types of treatment, and if you are interested in practising home massage while you are pregnant, then there are a few things you should know before hand.

Speak to Your Doctor

There are specific conditions that you may have while pregnant, that make some or all forms of home massage dangerous or unsafe.

If you’re considering making home massage a part of your ante natal treatment, make sure that you speak to your doctor first, and rule out all of those conditions first. It is always best to be safe, rather than sorry, and while home massage during pregnancy is usually perfectly safe, you need to be sure before you start!

Learn Proper Techniques

Home massage during pregnancy is not as simple as it is at other times. There are certain areas of your body that should be massaged in certain ways and specific techniques that should, and should not be used.

There are online courses, as well as real world training programs, that can help you to practice home massage during pregnancy safely, and with maximum benefit to you and your baby, and it is always a good idea to make sure that you know what you are doing before you incorporate it into your pregnancy routine.

Equip Yourself

If you are planning to make home massage a part of your pregnancy routine, then there are specific types of equipment and materials that can be useful. Heating and cooling pads, pregnancy safe massage oils and lotions; a firm and stable massage surface and other items are all things that you might like to consider. There are, of course, also many items that you probably already own that can be incorporated into home massage during pregnancy, and it need not be an expensive or difficult process.

Enlist Your Partner

During the early stages of your pregnancy, it may be possible to practice home massage techniques yourself, however, as you progress through your pregnancy, that will become more difficult. Enlist your partner’s help to massage your back, abdomen, and other areas of your body that you cannot reach. Not only does this make home massage during pregnancy easier, and more comfortable, but it allows your partner to become involved in the process of pregnancy, on a physical level.

Home massage is a great form of relaxation and therapy, as well as an effective treatment for many aches and pains, and it is a good idea to include it in your pregnancy routine from early on. Make sure that you do so safely, and that you stop if you notice any adverse or worrying effects and it should be a great way to relax and enjoy your pregnancy more.

Foods That Can Help You Get Pregnant Easily

Unknown to most women, there are some foods that can help you get pregnant easily. There are actually other factors to help you get pregnant fast and food is just one of them. What you eat can actually affect how fast you will conceive. This even applies to your partner, as it takes two to tango.

New findings indicate that your diet during pregnancy could even affect your chances of having either a baby girl or boy. In fact, research has discovered that expecting mothers who often had a high-calorie diet and ate breakfast regularly had more chances of giving birth to a baby boy. Scientists are suggesting that people being too busy for breakfast and having low calorie diets these days probably influence the increasing number of girls being born in recent years.

So how can food make one get pregnant easily? To date, there is proof established yet, but there is increasing evidence on the subject. In studies, those who took multivitamins that included folic acid or iron were found to have better chances of getting pregnant. It is also found that nutrients deriving from vegetables, fruits, beans and supplements in contrast to red meat, are able to boost fertility.

Watching Weight
Experts suggest that anyone wanting to get pregnant easily should initially watch her weight. Women who have a BMI (body mass index) of 20 to 24 have the most likelihood of falling pregnant. On the other hand, women with a BMI over 24 or less than 20 have a less likelihood of conceiving. However, this definitely does not mean there's no hope for those who do not fall in the healthy weight category. Studies indicate that any woman can jump-start ovulation by making some healthy and moderate changes in their weight.

Organic Food
So what foods can you try to get pregnant easily? There are a number of foods that are considered fertility boosting. Try to consume about 8 portions of organic fruits and vegetables each day. Go for organic when it comes to animal produce such as meat and dairy products. Consume more brown whole foods instead of white refined foods-whole foods contain more zinc, which is good for you. Moreover, you need to eat fewer portions but on a regular basis each day to maintain proper blood sugar levels in your body.

Fiber
Don't forget your fiber, which is important in maintaining a healthy bowel and boosting fertility. Finally, eat more "good fats," which could be taken from oily fish like salmon, tuna and mackerel. You may take fish oil supplements or eat sunflower/pumpkin seeds, as mercury levels can be high in seafood. While you're at it, drink around 8 glass of water each day.

Foods To Avoid
While there are foods that can help you get pregnant easily, there are those that you should avoid. Avoid drinking caffeine as much as possible. Also avoid drinking alcohol. These substances are known to present a risk of infertility in women.

Choose your diet well. Food has obviously been used as a source of nutrients for our well-being. But with so many choices these days, we need to choose the right kinds of food. Eating wisely can help any woman get pregnant easily.

Personalised Baby Gifts - The Perfect Way to Say Congratulations

Nine months. 38 weeks. 266-odd days. No matter how you break it down, being pregnant takes a while. And over that time, you've watched as she's got bigger and bigger. Then, finally, after a manic drive to the maternity ward, the world's presented with another little bundle of joy. It can only mean one thing - baby gift time.

In this instance, two things are a given. Number one - half of everybody who knows the new parents will buy Baby some cute clothes. You know the sort of thing - dinky jeans and a T-shirt with a cartoon helicopter on the front. Number two - the other half will buy Baby some brightly coloured toys, all of which will end up being chewed. And that's all well and good. But if you want to buck the trend, get online and shop for personalised baby gifts.

You'll be able to personalise the label with their names and a message dedicated to their newborn bub. What's more, with mum having gone cold turkey for the last eight months, it'll be a particularly big hit with her!

This cuddly little chap comes with a cream jumper that can be embroidered in either pink or blue. Any name can be added, in addition to three extra lines for a message. Super soft and very cute, he's the sort of bear that'll be sneaked up to the university halls in 18 years time.

The second alternative is a personalised baby blanket. Available in the classic baby pink and baby blue, they're made from a soft, durable fleece which can be personalising by adding Baby's name and either a message or their date of birth, both of which will then be embroidered onto the fleece. It all adds up to one seriously cute baby gift.

And of course, you've got all sorts of other gifts for babies to pick from, too - be it personalised picture frames, personalised newspaper covers or various china keepsakes. In fact, it just goes to show that when it comes to buying baby gifts, there's more to it than nipping down to Mothercare.

Maternity Photography - Where to Shoot

Pregnancy is important not only for the would-be mother but it is equally important for any one related to pregnant woman. Husband, kids, parents, relatives and even the friends and neighbors, all have special regard for the pregnant ladies. This caring attitude in all the communities is increasing fast. Today, pregnant ladies are getting much better social and moral support. Until few years back, expectant couples used to find it hard to decide in favor of having maternity photography in spite of knowing its importance. They faced vivid resistances created by different sources. Today, entire scene has changed; for most expectant couples maternity photography is an essential activity.

When expectant mothers or couples plan for pregnancy photography sessions, they face some crucial issues. The solution to budget, preparation, number of sessions and number of total photographs like issues depends upon personal circumstances and parameters. With positive attitude and firm determination, anyone can easily deal with these crucial issues of pregnancy photography. Location is another critical aspect of maternity photography.

Modeling mothers need to lay special emphasis upon this aspect. Generally couples think only about two options- outdoor or in-house. To make the maternity photographs more touching and impressive, optimum mix of both the options is must. Both the options have plus and negative sides. Outdoor option brings freshness and change to the photographs. This option allows you to give more natural poses like - walking, sitting at the beach, taking sunbath. Background activities and scenes may make the photographs more beautiful and attractive. But, exposing the belly publicly may be the major limitation for many pregnant ladies. Secondly, it needs safe transportation to the site. Outdoor pregnancy photography is recommended for the 7th or 8th week.

In-house maternity photography is safe and secures privacy. It is convenient to get prepared for in-house photography sessions. It is time saving. But, you have limited means to change the background or lighting effects. Although by changing the curtains, cover sheets and decorative articles some changes may be introduced but we have very limited options of locations. It is recommended for the last phase of pregnancy stage.

The third option for having for maternity photography session, which is still not too popular, is studio photography. Controlled calm environment, no sun or cold air to fight with, high privacy and possibility of creating artificial backgrounds are therefore positive sides of this option. Studio shoots can be impressive and good looking but in most cases these fail to capture natural facial emotions. Motherly facial expressions get convert in to the impressions of pure model. Perfect maternity photography studio shots need more perfection to look natural.

So, all the three possible options have positive and negative sides; it is you to optimize all of these three according to personal parameters.

Barak V. is writing article for maternity photography. He says that maternity photography is becoming quite popular day by day and women from almost every terrain of the globe simply love this idea of unique photo session. However, a photo session in the outdoor will really make the mama feel free.

Benefits of a Maternity Belt

Maternity Belts are one of the most useful, yet one of the least known pregnancy products on the market. Designed to support your bump and lower back during pregnancy, using a maternity belt or maternity band can reduce or remove pregnancy related pain and can make your entire pregnancy more comfortable - some say it can even reduce the number of stretch marks you get!

Throughout your pregnancy your body produces a hormone called Relaxin which softens the tendons and ligaments around your pelvis enabling it to widen during the labour process. However, as the Relaxin starts to enter your body, your pelvis can start to relax earlier than it should. This relaxation leads to movement in the pelvis which reduces the support your pelvis can provide to your back and, when added with the extra weight put on as your bump grows, can result in severe discomfort and pain.

In extreme cases this can cause pelvic girdle pain where the women can experience pain almost anywhere in her body, from lower back pain and discomfort in the pelvis to shooting pains up the body or down the legs and across the abdomen. In some cases, this increase in movement in the pelvis along with the increased pressure can result in the pelvis locking and the individual being unable to move for varying degrees of time. This can be distressing but, if it happens frequently, can be debilitating and result in the need for crutches for support or even incapacity.

However a maternity belt can support your back and your bump to reduce these pressures and can put a stop to pregnancy related pain altogether.

A good maternity belt sits under your bump and is designed to slightly lift your bump, taking some of the weight off your pelvis and thus reducing the movement that can cause the pain and resulting side effects. The belt also wraps around your lower spine, supporting the back to give you a more correct posture and should ensure a more comfortable position for your bump, which should make your whole maternity experience more comfortable.

But this is only one benefit of a maternity belt.

The maternity belt can provide a bra like support to any bump which is why a growing number of women who have never experienced any sort of pregnancy related pain are starting to agree that they are a vital part of your maternity underwear.

Just as we wear bras to support and define our busts, we can now provide the same support and definition to our pregnancy bumps.

As you grow during your pregnancy the maternity belt can help carry some of your increased weight in your everyday life to ensure that your pregnancy is as comfortable as possible.

When you become pregnant after already having a child you will find that your body changes and grows much quicker than it did the first time around, as if your body remembers what it needs to be doing and so gets on with the job. This means that you will probably have a larger bump for longer than you did - and that can wear on your body. The maternity belt can give you that extra lift, just to make sure you don't start getting weary and experiencing the back pain we are so keen to avoid.

Or if you having a multiple pregnancy, where you have even more to carry, then a maternity belt can sometimes be the difference in whether you can make it through the day or not!

And there is even a school of thought that says that if your bump is supported and not pulling down on your skin, then there is less stress on your skin which can cause stretch marks. This has yet to be proven, but who wants to take the risk!

Whatever your reason for wearing a maternity belt, check out www.maternitybelt.org.uk for full information on the different types of maternity support on offer - you won't believe the difference it can make!

I have had two pregnancies, including a multiple pregnancy and feel that every woman who is pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant should know the benefit of wearing a maternity belt.

What Is Maternity Insurance?

The plan of starting a family or having a baby is one of the most wonderful and astounding news for a couple or an individual. However, the expenses during pregnancy and child's birth can easily have the parent strapped for cash. Getting out of budget during pregnancy can jeopardize the good health of both the mother and the child. Fortunately, the availability of facilities like maternity insurance can ensure a healthy and safe birth.

The average cost of a natural vaginal child birth is between $5000 and $10000, including all the expenses. But complications like cesarean section, premature births and others can easily skyrocket the cost to $15000. Astounding, isn't it! You will have to pay all of that money from your pocket if you don't have insurance. Besides that this is the time when you are supposed to save money for your child's future schooling and nurturing.

Maternity insurance is insurance for mothers expecting a baby. There are different types, including complete and partial insurance. In complete insurance the fees of hospitalization, physician's appointments, prescriptions, drugs, lab tests, delivery, anesthesia and even cesarean section, in case of complications, are covered. While partial insurance depend on the fund provider, it may only cover hospitalization and physicians fees.

There are health insurance policies that covers maternity expenses as well. These are known as maternity health insurance. Although such insurance is more expensive, it relieves you of the pressure of getting another insurance. Maternity health insurance may also be of different types, including partial and complete.

The third and the best type of such insurance is a group insurance covering all the expenses during pregnancy. Such benefits are offered by employers as employee benefit and are known as EI (Employee insurance). These cover the whole cost of health care of a family. Although, every employer should offer such benefits there are many who don't.

When should you get insured? Well this is something that matters a lot. This is because most of maternity fund providers want you to get insured six months or more, before a pregnancy is detected. For this reason many insurances comes with a waiting period of six months or more, while others demands proofs that you are not pregnant at the time of signing the insurance.

In cases the mother is already pregnant and does not have any insurance yet, there are other plans and offers that might help. Such plans are more expensive but cover about the same expenses. Therefore, it is wise to get insured in hand, because things could get serious without insurance.

Preserving Health And Beauty In Pregnancy

Most women think that it's okay to stop exerting effort in looking beautiful during pregnancy but it's not. Pregnancy is a time when your hormones are in a rage. It is easy to be overwhelmed by new feelings, sensations, and changes in your body that make you feel not in control. Taking care of your pregnant self lets you be in control and preserve your health and beauty. It's not easy to look in a mirror with disheveled hair and dry, blotchy skin. It's also frustrating to try and fit yourself in your pre-pregnant outfits. Get rid of the idea that this is normal. What's normal is a pregnant woman embracing and enjoying her pregnancy by taking care of her body, her health and beauty.

Studies by the MRC/US Anxiety and Stress Disorders Research Unit show that babies born of happy mothers are healthier -- they are heavier, more active, and agreeable. They also absorb more nutrients from their first feedings which are essential for their nourishment. Happy mothers are also found to produce better-quality milk for their babies. Negative emotions increase the risk of developing post-pregnancy depression. This affects how a mother bonds and cares for her newborn. The best way to ward off this negativity is to preserve your health and beauty.

First, follow a healthy diet under the specifications of your doctor. Do not assume that the diet your other pregnant friend follows is right for you. Your health and beauty needs are unique. You may have deficiencies or skin care needs, which your friend's diet cannot address. Second, take supplements and vitamins according to your doctor's instructions. Never take drugs or any form of medicine without your doctor's approval. It may have adverse effects on your baby. Third, exercise lightly to avoid gaining excess weight. Expectant mothers normally gain 15-20 pounds; anything higher than that can give you a difficult delivery. Fourth, get adequate sleep and rest. Nothing is more stressful than sleepless nights because of hormones and restlessness. Make up for lost sleep during the day; your body tells you when it needs some shut-eye.

Of course, a pregnant woman's health and beauty are not limited to her physical needs. Her emotional and psychological well-being are just as important. You know that nothing boosts your confidence than being thought of and complimented as beautiful. You can easily get that goddess feeling again through modern maternity fashion. Take all those loose, tent-like dresses your mother-in-law lent you. Contemporary maternity designers are coming out with new designs that showcase your pregnant body rather than hiding it. Take advantage of your fuller cleavage and wear lower necklines. Show off your pregnant belly in stretch tops that hug your curves in solid colors. Avoid hiding in busy prints and opt for simple, understated accents and accessories. Change your hairstyle -- pregnancy is a perfect excuse to try the new pixie cut. Keep your posture straight and your feet pretty in fun flats and funky mules.

Health and beauty are essentials for a pregnant woman. Take care of yours to be better-equipped in caring for your baby. Treat your pregnancy as your time to shine with natural health and beauty. Staying healthy and beautiful during pregnancy is not only easy; it is the best thing you can do for yourself and your baby.

Abdominal Cramps During Pregnancy

It is not uncommon to have abdominal cramps during early pregnancy. Many women become frightened and fear that they may be having a miscarriage. This is normally not the reason for abdominal cramps during early pregnancy. The embryo is embedding itself in the lining of the uterus. This is what makes you feel cramps similar to those felt when you're having your period. The cramps may last for several days and you may suffer the way you did when having a period on a normal basis. Please do not be afraid of those cramps as they are a normal part of the pregnancy.

Abdominal cramps during early pregnancy are a normal happening that all women experience. A more serious problem is when you are suffering lower abdominal pain. Then it is best that you consult your physician. It is not uncommon for many women to suffer the lower cramps which are referred to as sporadic abdominal discomfort. These sporadic abdominal cramps are similar to those pain felt during a normal period. It is a sign that your uterus is preparing to carry your baby through the next nine months. If you are suffering the pains with other symptoms then you will need to immediately contact your physician.

Women, who suffer from chills, fever, spotting along with abdominal cramps during early pregnancy maybe suffering from other more harmful conditions, when a fertilized egg attaches outside of a woman's uterus then this condition is referred to as Ectopic Pregnancy. The egg usually will attach itself to the fallopian tube. Normally this condition is caught in the first few weeks and treated right away. If for some reason it does not get noticed and treated it could be very dangerous as the fallopian tube may result in rupture. The signs and symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy include spotting, abdominal pain and tenderness. These signs are accompanied with lower back pain, shoulder pain, dizziness or faintness. If you suspect an ectopic pregnancy please contact your physician right away.

Abdominal cramps during early pregnancy unfortunately can occasionally mean that you are about to have a miscarriage. Typically, the symptoms for a miscarriage are bleeding that might be light or heavy, menstrual cramps that gradually increase in intensity. Some women suffer from back pain.

If any of these symptoms arise please contact your physician immediately.

Remain calm because it does not necessarily mean that you are in the process of having a miscarriage as other things maybe going on that are lesser by nature. Some ladies suffer from lower back pain due to kidney stones, gallbladder disease or even pancreatitis. When you suffer from one of these diseases it is debilitating and in some cases warrants surgery. An abdominal cramp during early pregnancy usually happens to just about all women who are pregnant therefore please do not panic. It is always for the best to contact your physicians.

There is good news, however, women who have abdominal cramps during early pregnancy find it occurs from uterus stretching, from gas or even constipation. It is true that you might be suffering from round ligament pain which may result in short stabbing and sharp aches in one or both sides of the abdomen. This pain can be relieved very quickly simply by changing your position or simply just relaxing.

When you do feel abdominal cramps during your early pregnancy the best thing for you to do is set down, put your feet up, and relax. Normal abdominal pain may be caused by the simplest of things.
  • Gas pains and bloating caused by hormones that slow your digestion process down.
  • The pressure of your growing uterus.
  • Constipation *note contact a doctor before taking any type of laxative.
  • Heartburn caused by something that you ate that did not agree with you or the baby.
A lot of women do have abdominal cramps during early pregnancy which is normal as the embryo is embedding itself in the lining of the uterus. Cramping in the last weeks of the pregnancy is a sign that labor is almost ready to start. At the start of your labor you will have very strong cramps that are severe in nature and about five to ten minutes apart. This is time to contact your physician and go immediately to the hospital for the delivery. The early part of your pregnancy these cramps can be mild to severe so it is up to you to check with your physician and make sure that it is just the natural part of your pregnancy and not anything to worry about.

How Dangerous Is Exposure to Black Mold During Pregnancy?

Discovering mold in your home can be bad enough under any circumstances; but finding a growth of this nasty substance when there's someone pregnant can be devastating because it can be detrimental to both mother and baby to be born. Black mold is known to get its nutrients from the source its growing on and the organism it produces during the process is said to be very harmful to those with weak immunity and especially to people suffering from respiratory problems. Although no hard and fast proof has been produced up to now, doctors and experts are of the view that this particular mold can cause a miscarriage or birth defects in the unborn babe.

It is after taking these negative assumptions into consideration that health experts recommend pregnant women to move away from a building invested with the dreaded black mold for the safety of both mother and baby. Even though there is no firm evidence to date, studies carried out on the subject have shown that many mum's to be who were exposed to mold had either suffered a miscarriage or the baby had been born with birth defects. These studies have covered humans as well as animals and results although not conclusive, have indicated to a great extent the dangers pregnant women face when exposed to this mold

It is a well-known fact that black mold has a devastating effect on the respiratory tract and researchers believe that being exposed to the poisonous effects of the mold might very well be the cause of asthma when the baby's in the womb. An even more dangerous connection has been made with black mold and the "Sudden infant Death Syndrome" where infants suddenly stop breathing. Health experts believe that this could be due to being exposed to the toxic effects of the mold while in the uterus which most probably continued after its birth and at the time of death.

With many health experts claiming that allergies develop in the womb itself, it is their belief that exposure to toxic substances, such as the poisonous black mold could result in respiratory tract infection and especially in the cause of asthma in the uterus. Even certain other illnesses such a chronic fatigue they say, could have developed by being exposed to mold while in the womb although no concrete proof has been produced so far.

Proved or not, it's important for the mother to be to ensure that she and baby are not exposed to any adverse conditions before and after birth of the baby and one such way of doing it is by keeping her house free of mold by having the home tested professionally by experts. Additionally, if she happens to work in an office, its best to take precautionary measures by requesting the management to get the building inspected for mold. This could be a good thing not only for the mum to be but for everyone in office as well, as it's always better to be safe than sorry.

7 Great Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy

You want to be the perfect pregnant mother, doing everything in your power to keep yourself safe and healthy so that your baby develops perfectly.

1. Folic Acid/Folate Supplementation

Folic Acid is the human-made version of folate, a nutrient naturally found in foods like broccoli, spinach, and liver (yum!). It serves many useful functions in the human body, but for pregnant women it is recommended because it helps prevent some serious birth defects, especially those surrounding the neural tube.

Early supplementation with folic acid, especially during the first month or so of pregnancy is needed to prevent these serious birth defects (including spina bifida). For this reason, women who are actively trying to get pregnant should start folic acid supplementation during the weeks that they are trying to conceive.

In 1996, the US government mandated the enrichment of commercially available grain products (cereal, bread, etc.) with folic acid. Orange juice is also a popular source of folic acid. There are many ways to get your daily amount of folate, including prenatal vitamins, which many doctors prescribe.

2. Avoid Processed Foods

Processed foods are often nutritionally void and calorically dense. They offer your body (and more importantly, your baby's developing body) nothing that it needs, and may come with a whole host of artificial colors and chemicals. Processed meats like hot dogs can be especially dangerous, as they sometimes carry bacteria that can result is a serious infection or even miscarriage.

Stick to healthy food that you make yourself (or maybe your partner makes!). Use a food thermometer to ensure that all meats are thoroughly cooked. Don't reheat leftovers more than once. Don't ever refreeze food that has been defrosted.

3. Exercise

Just because you are pregnant doesn't mean that your whole body goes on vacation. The health benefits of exercise can continue well into pregnancy. Low intensity exercises like walking and swimming help keep your cardiovascular system active. Pregnant women can even do many different weightlifitng exercises.

You should, however, avoid any activity with a high chance of falling or impacts to your body. Also be aware of the effects of intense weightlifting moves like deadlifting or squatting on the pelvic regions. Don't do moves like lunges, which can risk damaging connective tissue.

4. Get Regular Sleep

This is just a tip for good health in general. Most adults need seven to eight hours of sleep per day. If your schedule allows it, go to sleep when it gets dark, and wake up naturally when you are rested and refreshed. If you are exercising regularly, that can also help aid you in going to sleep.

This is all easier said than done, however, as pregnant women experience a wide variety of sleep disturbances. Excess liquid can send you to the bathroom several times per night. The fetus can also switch positions and place pressure on the bladder. If you budget yourself ample time to sleep every night, you can try to fight the sleepiness that can come from a lack of deep, restful sleep.

5. See Your Doctor Regularly

This should also go without saying. If you are serious about your health and the health of your child, then partner up with a good doctor as soon as you are ready to start conceiving. They can help you figure out your best ovulation schedule, get you on prenatal vitamins, and monitor your health and the health of your baby throughout the pregnancy.

6. Stop Smoking/Drinking Alcohol

This should all go without saying, but there is no safe level of smoking or drinking to do during pregnancy. Smoking and drinking rob the fetus of oxygen that it needs too develop properly. Additionally, exposure to the various substances contained in cigarettes can cause damage to your baby while it is still in the womb. Pregnant women should even avoid second hand smoke. Fetal alcohol syndrome is a very serious condition caused by maternal drinking during pregnancy.

7. Avoid Environmental Pollutants

Much like second hand smoke and its detrimental effect on the fetus, other environmental pollutants can be dangerous to your baby. Fumes from paint or solvents, lead (usually found in paint in old buildings), and mercury, just to name a few, can all cause birth defects and other complications. Mercury can be found in some varieties of commercially available fish. For this reason, many pregnant women abstain from fish altogether or keep their intakes very low. Keep the environment around you as pure as possible so that your baby can develop in a safe, healthy manner.
